What Constitutes a Dental Emergency?
Most dental emergencies fall into one of three main categories:
- Health
- Function
- Aesthetics
Are you unable to eat, or do you have a chipped front tooth that’s too embarrassing to face work or school? If so, you need an emergency dentist who can see you as soon as possible, ideally the same day.
Some of the most common dental emergencies we treat include sharp or broken teeth, gum swelling, pain, and hypersensitivity. Other frequent issues include soft tissue lesions, such as ulcers under dentures, abscessed teeth, and traumatic injuries. Our team is here to provide prompt and compassionate care when you need it most.
Parent FAQ
Clear, friendly guidance for every step of your child’s dental journey.
When should my child have their first dental visit?
We recommend scheduling your child’s first visit by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth erupting. Early visits help us guide healthy habits from the start and make dental care feel positive and stress-free.
What can we expect during the first appointment?
Your child’s first appointment is all about comfort. We’ll gently check their teeth and gums, discuss oral care at home, and answer any questions you have. We will perform a cleaning and fluoride treatment and take x-rays, if indicated.
How do you help anxious or nervous children?
We know dental visits can feel intimidating. Our office is designed just for kids, with a calm atmosphere, friendly guidance, and behavior-management techniques that help children feel safe and in control. For little ones needing extra support, we also offer gentle sedation options.
How often should my child come in for checkups?
Most children benefit from a checkup every six months. Regular visits help us catch small issues early, support healthy development, and keep your child’s smile strong as they grow.

Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes — we work with many insurance plans and are happy to help you understand your coverage. If you’re unsure about your benefits, our team can review them with you before treatment so there are no surprises.
